Mr Mart Bakal established and managed the privatization program for large corporations in the Czech Republic. He is a well known professional in investment banking and law with 20 years of international experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate and real estate finance. Prior to forming Crimson Capital, he was on the Faculty of the Harvard Graduate School of Business where he taught second year MBA students for many years. On Wall Street, Mr. Bakal was a senior executive in two major investment banks, where he executed transactions involving acquisition, financings, sales, restructuring of major corporations in North America, South America and Europe. While President of Tigera Group inc. he was the chief executive officer responsible for restructuring large business operations involved in computer, information technology, and transportation. As an international lawyer he managed financings, restructurings, and public offerings for commercial banks, and public corporations involved in energy production and distribution, real estate, mining, beverage and food manufacturing, financial services, wholesale, packaging, retail stores, investment management, and manufacturing of consumer products. Recently he has led a project involved in privatizing the largest bank in Warsaw. Privatization ExperienceWorking in the Czech Republic Mr. Bakal demonstrated an ability to structure and manage a transactions team which has closed over 100 foreign investments in the difficult East European environment. He began by creating the guidelines for privatization of companies for the Czech Ministry of Privatization and National Property Fund, and successfully worked with the political leaders to implement an effective program of transformation of ownership of all major companies in the country. He currently leads a team of 30 professionals including investment bankers, consultants and lawyers, who have advised on the privatization of over 330 companies. In Poland, Mr. Bakal works with the PBK Bank on its privatization and the transformation of the largest bank in Warsaw by a team of 10 investment bankers. Mr. Bakal has been instrumental in the development of a deal oriented privaiization policy in the region and has advised on the implementation of transaction procedures to representatives of the governments of poland, Hungary, Russia, Romania, and the Ukraine.
